There has been no fuss when we see this new timepiece by Breitling. Again, as an official partner of Bentley Motors, the manufacturer presents this limited edition model to celebrate the launch of the new Continental V8 line. Typically designed with all the classic and signature Breitling elements, actually to me it kind of lacks something exciting to grab my attention. But for the die-hard Breitling fans, it certainly will still be worth checking out for the fact that this new creation is also among their masterpieces.

This Breitling for Bentley GMT V8 chronograph watch features a 49mm case sculptured in stainless steel. The most eye-catching part will be the red ring that forms a striking contrast against the black dial. Obviously this inspiration still comes from the Bentley Continental GT V8 emblem and the dark background.

Well, the display in fact has shown the audience that the Bentley GMT V8 model is born to be a traveler. You can see this from stuff like the ingenious multiple timezone display system. The function is realized with a red triangular tipped additional hour hand completing one rotation every 24 hours. And the pushpiece you see at the left side of the case is employed to adjust the hand forward in one-hour increments so as to illustrate the second timezone and meanwhile distinguish day and night hours. With the help of a rotating inner bezel on which we can read the names of the 24 cities, the watch is able to tell us instantly the time of all different timezones in the world, in relation to that shown by the 24-hour hand.

Animating this new Breitling creation is the Swiss automatic Breitling caliber 47B incorporating 38 jewels and running at a speed of 28,800 vph. The mechanism allows a power reserve of 48 hours. However, there’s something special and worth mentioning here. This COSC-certified selfwinding chronograph movement actually provides another technical asset which is exclusive to the Breitling for Bentley range — a 30-second chronograph with a sweeping seconds hand that makes one full turn of the dial in half a minute and thus ensures an accuracy of up to 1/8th of a second.

And, only 250 pieces are available worldwide, which means the real difficulty in getting the watch, not to mention the definitely high price.
